I am very proud to be the founder member of such a great society. I hope all of you who join in the future will find your membership an enjoyable and fulfilling experience...

Does membership mean we get to come to working weekends with hands on 'spade work' preserving the railway ???

Please find enclosed a generous donation of electronic-cash to further the good work of the society...

I can't get clicking on stations on the map to work.
Umm.. it can be a bit fiddly: you need to make sure the finger bit of the mouse pointer is over what you want to click on. -G.M.

Where can I find the train times then? They don't seem to be here.

Do you offer any bumper Bank Holiday bargain breaks to the Emerald Isle? I know several people who just might be interested!!

Congratulations to the General Manager on running such a splendid railway!
Bob Horton.
Dear Madam,
It has been drawn to our attention that the Chuffington and Oval Light Railway is far too successful and far too efficiently run. Consequently, in accordance with the "Chuffington and Oval Light Railway Act 1996", we have determined that the railway should be split into 396 (un)economic units. These seperate units will then, after the passage of a suitable period of time, all be sold to a supermarket chain for the purposes of redeveloping the property and the profits from the sale will be deposited in an anonymous off-shore bank account in Hawaii.
I hope this does not inconvenience you in any way. Your full cooperation will be greatly appreciated.

Yours faithfully,
Bob Horton,
Chairman,
Railtrack.

Richard Long.
Do you accept Young Persons Railcards and can I have an all day Rover ticket? PS. I do hope you don't get privatised or anything nasty like that...
Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
Have you considered the obvious advantages of converting your railway to the seven foot gauge?
Actually, Mr. Brunel, on a virtual railway one can have virtually any gauge one likes... -G.M.
Robert Stephenson, Engineer.
I have a new Engine called 'Rocket', it is a fine piece of engineering, and very economical to run. If you are interested in giving my engine a trial run, then please get in touch.

By the way, last time it had a trial, we ran down the President of the Board of Trade! Maybe we could try for Mr. Horton this time?

Do you mind if I let Ivor have a little run up and down your line?

I would like to suggest a westward extension of the C & O L Rly - to Holywood via the Atlantic Tunnel. You could perhaps call the the service "MovieStar".
What a good idea - but will I be able to get Government funding for the building of the high speed rail link? -G.M.

After a slight absence, I wish to rejoin the Society, is there a special rate for ex-members?

I feel that the livery you have painted your rolling stock in is the wrong shade of black altogether - and before I go, there are two rivets missing from the right hand side of the bunker. Hope you get it right next time - not that i'm nit-picking.

A small proposal. Drag racing for trains. Mallard on one line, any useful diesel on the other. First to brake is a cissy.
This could well have the added advantage of clearing some of the the land for the proposed extensions.
And what about our little enamelled badges?

Hi there, great web site. Is my FR Resident's Railcard valid on Chuffington Trains or is there any other similar scheme? :-)
